The Sharptail Lodge was built right in the middle of 150,000 + acres of private farm and ranchland that is home to some of the most prolific wild bird habitat in the USA. The lack of development and vast tracts of native grass provides perfect habitat for our native sharptail grouse.
Starting September 1st, our guests start the season off chasing sharptail grouse and Hungarian partridge. In mid-October our pheasant season opens and our clients have a chance to harvest all three. PRO Outfitter’s Sharptail Lodge is the only Orvis Wing Shooting Lodge in the country to exclusively hunt ALL WILD BIRDS. To do this, we need: (1) a lot of land; (2) knowledgeable guides; and (3) Big Running Dogs! Check…Check…and…Check!!

Our unique newly constructed Sharptail Lodge is comprised of 6 individual guest yurt cabins and 2 large gathering yurts for socializing and meals. Located near Geyser, Montana, our lodge provides hunting opportunities for wild birds right out the front door. Each yurt has its own shower, bathroom, two queen size beds and gas fireplace offering space, luxury and privacy.
Gourmet meals are served in Yurt Central, which features a large dining area, lounge and stocked bar. The views however, define the most dynamic aspect of the Sharptail. Panoramic vistas extend north as far as the eye can see – where the expansive sky meets the scenic horizon – viewers will fully understand the term “Big sky Country”. This remote lodge gives our guests a rest from the hustle and bustle of daily life and allows for a genuine sense of peace to prevail. There is really nothing like it.
A touch of class, in a unique setting, brings you to the tables of PRO’s accomplished chefs at the Sharp Tail Lodge. You’ll be treated to culinary enjoyment that celebrates Montana. Fresh, organic and locally grown herbs and produce compliment any entrée.
Careful consideration is given to menu planning, and any dietary requests are easy to accommodate, just let us know in advance.

They should be broken in, not a brand new pair of leather boots. You would be better off with comfortable pair of lightweight hiking boots.
Merrells are a good example. For hunting pheasant, full length waterproof hiking boots are recommended.
